Low Temperature Heat Pump

Low Temperature (LT) air source heat pumps (ASHPs) are highly flexible, energy efficient home heating systems that extracts the heat from the outside air, raises this heat to a higher temperature and then distributes warmth around the home.
Because of the advanced technology, three quarters of the heat generated by LT ASHP systems comes from a renewable energy source, the air around us, and therefore absolutely free of charge! The air to water heat pump is today’s answer to the current and future problems associated with conventional heating systems, such as, increasing primary energy costs and an unacceptably high environmental impact.

ASHPs operate 3 to 5 times more efficiently than traditional heating systems based on fossil fuels or electricity. By making use of the heat in the outside air, you use far less energy while still enjoying a stable and pleasant level of comfort. Also, maintenance requirements are minimal ensuring low running costs. Thanks to the inverter technology and in-built weather compensation control that modern ASHPs use; energy savings are even greater than most other cheaper heat pump systems.

LT ASHPs operate at a range from 25-50°C and although lower than a conventional system can still satisfy all your heating and domestic hot water requirements right through the year even on the coldest days. The key to making a LT ASHP work is to ensure that all heat emitters are correctly sized to account for the lower flow temperature, as it is essential that the heat emitters reject enough heat energy to overcome the losses from the space. With an LT system radiators feel warm but not scolding hot, meaning they are safer for children or the elderly, whilst maintaining a high energy efficincy level; however for optimal performance we recommend the use of an under-floor or fan-coil heating system (we are able to design and install any heat emmitter system for retrofit or new build application). With a fully integrated control system, LT ASHPs will provide consistent comfort with optimum efficiency. These systems can be integrated with solar thermal panels to assist in the generation of hot water creating an unrivaled renewables solution for any home.

In the LT range there is also the option to utilise a "Monobloc" package system, this reduces the amount of equipment inside the property and encloses a large amount of the system in the outdoor unit, ideal for applications where interior space is a premium (please see illustration below).

All of these systems can be integrated to work in conjunction with other renewable technologies (ie. Solar Thermal)
